Information Exchange Event

November 17, 2016

The presenter for our November Information Exchange Event is Isis Washington. Ms. Washington will present on 3D Printing Application Programming and Design.

Isis is a 9th grade student at Grosse Point North in Grosse Point Woods, Michigan. She is also a student Scientist in the Ecotek Lab Program in Detroit, Michigan.  This past summer, Isis attended Purdue University to develop her skills and capacity in a broad set of Information Technology areas ranging from 3D printing to web programming. 3D Printing has revolutionized the marketplace. It takes a lot less time to bring product ideas to market. Today, a company or individual can conceive an idea at 8am; have it designed using a 3D modeling software by 11am; have a working prototype of the product in hand by 4pm. Isis has integrated her interest in 3D printing and virtual reality systems to design prototypes and develop applications that may help improve the design, implementation and management of renewable energy systems.

Ecotek Lab Program is a science research program located at Techtown Detroit. The program is for young inventors and researchers in grades 5 through 12. Student scientists work on projects aligned with the issues being addressed by world leaders at the United Nations. Website: http://www.ecotek-us.com
